Meet Jasen: The Entrepreneur Behind BoastPress

Hey there! I’m Jasen Fici (pronounced “feech” to my tennis buddies), the founder of BoastPress and a bootstrapper at heart.

For over two and a half decades, I’ve been building businesses from scratch—Jolt fueled coding late into the night, marketing with coffee in hand, and jumping on customer calls between meetings. 

It’s been a wild ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

From Coder to Company Builder

While I’ve been slinging code since dial-up modems were making those weird noises, my real passion is building SaaS companies that solve real problems for real people. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of watching someone use something you created and thinking, “Wow, this actually makes their life better!”

My entrepreneurial journey has included bootstrapping Velaro.com, which I successfully exited a few years ago, followed by another milestone when I recently sold StatusCast, my B2B SaaS company. After that, I immediately dove into a long-term business opportunity I’d always wanted to tackle. However, along the way, I decided to make many of the plugins I’d developed for my various web properties available to others facing similar challenges.

Why I Started Boast.Press (A Bit of a Rant)

Let’s be honest—the WordPress ecosystem has gotten… expensive. I kept finding myself frustrated every time I needed a simple plugin function, only to discover it required yet another recurring subscription with a price tag that made my wallet cry.
